Next Big Ingredient: “Passion fruit oil and Qusome technology,” says Dr. Colbert. “It’s like a Trojan horse. It tricks the skin into delivering active ingredient deeper into the epidermis.”

Top Tip for Spring: Dr. Colbert recommends scoring an facial oil that includes retinol and vitamin C along with argan, borage seed and marula oil, which will leave the skin soft and glowy.

SONYA DAKAR, Celeb Clients Include: Gwyneth Paltrow

Next Big Ingredient: “There are some exciting plant stem cells bring used in beauty products. Some are derived from plants and fruits that can stay fresh for a long time such as Swiss apples, edelweiss, roses, and date palms,” Dakar shares. “Stem cells help with the growth of new cells and the production of collagen, elastin and protein, which prevent and smooth wrinkles.”

Top Tip for Spring: “While I am a fan of skin oils, spring is a good time to transition to a lighter moisturizer. While oil nourishes skin and absorbs into it, you may also want to layer a lighter lotion on top.”

KATE SOMERVILLE, Celeb Clients Include: Kerry Washington

Next Big Ingredient: “Ingredients that are designed to protect telomeres,” Somerville shares. “A telomere is a region of repetitive DNA at the end of a chromosome, which protects the end of the chromosome from deterioration. When the telomere becomes too short, the chromosome reaches ‘critical length’ and can no longer replicate. This means the cell becomes old and dies. When this happens to skin cells, it causes dryness, wrinkles and sagging—the visible signs of aging.”

Top Tip for Spring: “Exfoliate! Look for formulas with fruit enzymes and smooth microbeads for a dual-action exfoliation.”

OANNA VARGAS, Celeb Clients Include: Naomi Watts

Next Big Ingredient: “Phyto stem edelweiss. Plant stem cells are going to really blow up in beauty,” Vargas says. “This one is one of the best because it will stimulate collagen and elastin productionand it’s natural.

Top Tip for Spring: “For spring I always say to focus on detoxing, both inside and out.” She recommends a facial that uses grapefruit, honey and oxygen to detox the skin. And for internal cleansing, she suggests trying “Dr. Frank Lipman’s cleanse. It helps the skin so much to clean out your digestive system—you’ll have fewer breakouts.”

RENÉE ROULEAU, Celeb Clients Include: Demi Lovato

Next Big Ingredient: “Peptide Haloxyl, which contains a combination of amino acids that are stimulating your own detox enzymes to work more efficiently in eliminating accumulation of dark pigment released from the red blood cells, strengthens eye tissue to prevent further leakage,” Rouleau says. “Simply put: it activates the elimination of blood originated pigments responsible for dark circle color and local inflammation.”

Top Tip for Spring: “The change of season from winter to spring can bring on increased breakouts since winter’s dry air can leave the skin with some residual dead skin cell buildup. Then when the temperatures start to warm up, it can bring increased oil flow, which can get trapped underneath cellular layers.

DR. FREDRIC BRANDT, Celeb Clients Include: Kelly Ripa

Next Big Ingredient: Biomimetic Tri-Amino Acids Peptide,” says Dr. Brandt. “This peptide inhibits the production of progerins—which are cell aging markers/mutated proteins that accelerate entry in senescence of the cells—and reinforces skin architecture.”

Top Tip for Spring: “Sunscreen!”
